THE GATEKEEPERS is a limited episode podcast series exploring America's culture of policing shared space, along race and class boundaries. It examines the policing of recreational spaces (i.e. parks, pools, etc.), academic spaces, work and co-working spaces, housing, and social spaces. The series was inspired by viral incidents where access to certain spaces are informally denied, often in a hostile way, (i.e."Permit Patty," "BBQ Becky."); and asks  "who is entitled to grant access to a particular space?", "is citizen space policing a form of informal segregation?", and "what harms are incurred by those whose access is denied?"
